WHO AM I?

Gehad is a multi-cultured and multi-disciplinary Egyptian actress, singer, and dance & movement enthusiast. Fluent in Arabic, English, French, and with an advanced level in Turkish Gehad has been trained by a plethora of teachers from different countries and different disciplines. She was trained by École Du Jeu and Jacques LeCoq in Paris, Gerald James - a visiting coach in Cairo - who is a member of the Actor's Studio in Los Angeles, Turkey's legendary stage icon and actor Haldun Dormen and Craft Acting school in Istanbul, in addition to working closely with multiple coaches in Cairo.

Gehad made her debut into the acting world through her role in the Shahid series' "Why not?" directed by Mariam Abou Auf and written by Mariam Naoum starring Menna Shalaby. Following her debut, Gehad also starred in a wide range of series including the Shahid series "Room 207" - an Ahmed Khaled Tawfik adaptation, starring Mohamed Farrag and Kamel El Basha -, "The Family group", "Mystery box", "Between the lines", and "All But Divorce". These steady steps allowed her to embark upon her role in the Shahid series "The Giza Killer"; a role that received great acclaim from the audience and drew attention to her talent paving her path for two very contrasting roles in two of the best projects of Ramadan 2024 namely; "Mandatory Path" and "Without Warning" exhibiting her distinctive acting range.

Gehad also took part in the French-Egyptian co-production; "The Goat" written and directed by the Italian director Ilaria Borreli, produced by Dominique Pinault and Islam El-Dakhakhny starring Mira Sorvino, John Savage, Amr Saad, and Sayed Ragab. Followed by guest appearances in the blockbuster movies "Fireworks" and "The Crows", in addition to "Seeking Haven for Mr. Rambo", and "Happy Birthday" directed by Sarah Goher the Egyptian American writer and producer known for Marvel's Moon Knight.

In addition to her exquisite passion for acting and dancing, Gehad sang the opening titles song for the Shahid series "Belly of the Whale", along with three other songs throughout the episodes; Songs that mixed Egyptian Folklore and Sufi poetry with modern music and the gangsters' world of the remarkable series.

In parallel, Gehad developed a strong interest in the body as a tool of expression. She believes it is the actor's creative instrument, which led her to join the prestigious Cairo Contemporary Dance Center as a student for two years. She has toured the Middle East and East Africa to exhibit a contemporary dance/ Movement performance after its critically acclaimed premiere in Egypt.

The young actress is a master's degree (MSc) holder in Development Administration & Planning from University College London (UCL). A time, in which, she focused on writing and researching on many topics that are concerned with the social impact in Egypt and different countries from different regions of the world; such as the integration of the Zabaleen's recycling methods into Cairo's formal waste, the economic cooperatives vis-à-vis the government intervention and their role in poverty reduction in the Tigray region in Ethiopia, The Islamic theology and its contribution to poverty reduction with a focus on the case of Egypt. Her programmatic and research work in international development exposed her to a wide array of raw stories from the different communities whether in Egypt or elsewhere. Triggered by her interest in storytelling and embodying the narrative she encountered, Gehad found in acting a home to express and shed light on topics that needs to be tackled and exposed to the collective awareness. Working in international development prior to transiting to acting had taught Gehad to keep an open mind by working on being receptive of different cultures to complement her own creative aspirations.
